What stays on your device
Your videos, photos, sound, projects, brand kit and setup answers are stored in your browser (IndexedDB) on the device you use. They are never sent to us. Captions are written on your device. Beats are generated on your device. Exports are rendered on your device.
What leaves your device
- Topi questions. When you ask Topi something, your message, your setup answers (name, what you make, where you post) and a text summary of the project (clip names, lengths, text on screen) go to our server and on to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the answer. No video, audio or images are sent. We count requests per day and keep no transcript.
- Downloads. The first time you use the clip tool or auto captions, the editing engine (about 31 MB) and the caption model (about 40 MB) are fetched from a content delivery network and cached in your browser.
- Fonts. Google Fonts serves the typefaces. Google sees the request like any web font.
- Hosting logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, time, page) for a short time.
No tracking
There are no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels and no cookies for tracking. We may add simple, anonymous usage counts later and will say so here.
If you tick the optional box, we will email product news. Reply "stop" to any email to end it. We never sell or share addresses.
Deleting your data
Delete a project from the home page, or clear this site's data in your browser to remove everything. Nothing is held on our side to delete, apart from an email address if you opted in: write to us and we remove it.
Children
Topier is for people 13 and older, 16 in the EU.
